List of London Assembly Member Candidates For Greenwich and Lewisham Released

by Benson Agoha | Politics

It’s the Final Countdown!

Voting for the Mayor of London and London assembly elections takes place less than one week from now on Thursday (May 5) from 7am to 10pm.

The deadline to vote by proxy was last Tuesday April 26. However, voters can register for an emergency proxy vote right up until 5pm on Thursday May 5. Voting by proxy is when a voter chooses someone they can trust to vote on their behalf at the polling station.

Members of the electorate can vote by emergency proxy if they have an important reason for their not being able to attend the polling station on the day, for example if they become ill or are called away at the last minute on an urgent, work-related matter.

For more information, visit www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/waystovote or call the electoral registration office on 020 8921 5183.

Voters don’t have to take their polling card with them providing they are on the electoral register. However, taking the card may save time at the polling station.

Each member of the electorate in the Royal Borough of Greenwich has a first and second choice vote for the Mayor of London election, one vote for the political party who they want to represent the whole of London, and one vote for the candidate who they would like to represent Greenwich and Lewisham.
