The London Metropolitan Police has launched a murder investigation after a teenager, pictured above, died following stab wounds in New Cross, South East London.

A police statement issued today said the murder investigation was been launched following the death of the teenager in New Cross after police were called on Sunday evening to reports of an altercation between a number of youths in New Cross, Road SE14.
When Officers arrived, they found the 17-year-old with a stab wound in nearby Camplin Street and set up cordons at the scene of the incident.
The London Ambulance Service (LAS) was called to the scene and the teenage boy was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead two hours later.

The statement said two boys of ages 15yrs and 16yrs respectively were arrested close to the scene and remain in custody as investigation continue.
An incident room has opened at the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) under Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Reeves.

Yarde who is said to like chilling in Lewisham was reportedly killed after two rival gangs between Lewisham and New Cross clashed.

A teenager who knows him told Woolwich Online she was shocked and can't still believe he was gone. "What's wrong with you, what were you doing in New Cross", she blotted out as she watched a recent video of the aspiring rapper on YouTube.

DCI Reeves said: "It was still daylight when the altercation began and we believe there could have been many people in the area who may have seen something which could provide valuable information to the investigation. I would urge them to contact police as soon as possible."
Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact police, and
anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4868, the police non-emergency line on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via crimestoppers-uk.org.
