A poster campaign appealing for foster carers is being launched for the second week of Fostering Fortnight (May16-29).

The theme for this year is ‘Time to Foster, Time to Care’ and the poster is promoting awareness of fostering as part of a ‘back of bus campaign’ running from Plumstead Bus Garage for four weeks starting on May 30. It is designed to highlight the need for potential carers and encourage them to come forward.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking more foster carers, particularly to look after teenagers, disabled children, unaccompanied asylum seekers, groups of brothers and sisters and for parents with babies.

A wider pool of foster carers is needed so children can live with a family in their local area wherever possible. It’s important that children live with families that are a good “match” for them, in terms of location, culture, lifestyle, language and interests.

If you are interested in fostering for Royal Greenwich contact the Fostering Service on 0800 052 1499, email Fostering.Duty@royalgreenwich.gov.uk/fostering or visit:
