The Mayor Of Paris Says The Principle For Her Visit To New Mayor of London Was Agreed Very Quickly

The Mayor of Paris, has become one of the first to pop over to see the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. He said: "Huge honour to welcome @Anne_Hidalgo. We share an ambitious vision for how our great cities can work together."

The pair chatted over coffee at the St Pancreas Rennaisance and issued a joint statement on US Presidential Candidate, Donald Trump's `ignorance' of Islam and its possible threat to the two cities.

In recent years, Paris has come under attack by terrorists, so its not surprising that Khan and his guest closed ranks easily on the issue.
Anne Hidalgo's 5-hour round trip visit to London is as popular in Paris as it is in London and new Mayor clear saw through the visit as the first of many yet to come, tweeting "Huge pleasure to welcome Mayor of Paris @Anne_Hidalgo to London for first of many meetings about our cities' futures."

Simply RiKki tweeted a report from Le Parisien, where Hidalgo made Tuesday's visit to his new counterpart in London as the pair wish to strengthen cooperation between their cities.

Sadiq Khan moved on the platform of St Pancras station to welcome his guest. She had openly supported during the municipal campaign.

And according to a report on Le Parisien, Anne Hidalgo on told reporters that: "I called Saturday morning from his election to congratulate him and we agreed very quickly the principle of the visit," adding "I told him that we had a common point, we were both children of a seamstress."

The Mayor of Paris said Khan "..knew he had read my story. This is a good man, a humanist who shares the same values ​​as ours."

Hildago's support for the Sadiq Khan made the news when she publicly tweeted her support on April 26, less than two weeks to the elections.
 
She tweeted: "I support and stand side by side with @SadiqKhan a great leader for London! #Paris & #London together for #TeamKhan."

The story alluded by the Mayor of Paris would include the fact that, like Khan, who made history as the first Muslim Mayor of a major European Capital, she was the first woman Mayor of Paris, even though she was born in Spain.
