Be The First In The Queue For Affordable Homes, Royal Greenwich Tell Residents

by Benson Agoha | Housing

Residents, and people who work in Royal Greenwich looking to find a new home can register to be the first to hear about new intermediate homes being built in the borough.

An intermediate housing list has been set up, in conjunction with the Mayor of London’s property portal, Share to Buy.

Current residents or people who work within the Royal Borough can tick the Greenwich priority service box to ensure they are first to find out about all the new homes available within the borough. Those opted into the Greenwich Priority Service will receive exclusive property alerts and newsletters ensuring they are kept right up to date with new properties in the borough.

Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Sustainability Councillor Danny Thorpe, said: “Greenwich is the fourth largest provider of new dwellings in London and has set out plans to build 25,590 new homes in the borough by 2021, so it is important our residents can be the first to find out more about these new properties.”

‘Intermediate’ housing is a term which refers to housing which falls between ‘social housing’, such as traditional rented council housing and ‘open market’ housing; it is intended to bridge the gap between the two. Intermediate housing tries to bridge the gap as ‘more affordable’ sitting below open market prices but above social housing.
