Members of the press are being given the opportunity to apply for accreditation to cover the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s count for the EU referendum.

It will start at 10pm on 23 June, and will be held at the Waterfront Leisure Centre, Woolwich SE18 6DL.

The ballot papers are expected to be verified by 1am, with the declaration coming at approximately 3.30am. These estimated times are subject to turnout.

There will be a dedicated area reserved for press covering the count. Those wishing to attend are reminded that normal rules apply and that they will not be able to access the counting floor until the count is finished and the announcement is being made.

It is essential that press wishing to receive accreditation at Royal Greenwich’s count RSVP to media.desk@royalgreenwich.gov.uk by 5pm on June 20.

They are asked to provide the names of those wishing to attend, the name of their company or media outlet, a contact number and an email address. They are also asked to outline any special requirements needed to cover the event - such as a request for a live feed or accommodation of a broadcast van.
