You are invited to Thomas Tallis School in Kidbrooke SE3 to see the unveiling of a RAF plaque dedicated to RAF linguists. We invite media to report/photograph this special plaque unveiling.

The site of the Thomas Tallis school was used during WW2 by RAF linguists who worked on board aircraft like the Boeing RC-135 ‘Rivet Joint’. Fluent in two or more languages, they monitored specialist electronic surveillance equipment over foreign and hostile territories. When the school was rebuilt in 2011 the plaque was removed and this ceremony is to rededicate it and place it back on the site.

Event details:
Date: Tuesday 12 July,
Time: 11:30am start - ceremony is due to last around 25 minutes.

Attendees to include:
* His Worshipful Mayor Cllr Olu Babatola, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich
* Deputy Leader of Royal Greenwich, Councillor Danny Thorpe
* Approximately 25 representatives from the RAF and Armed forces
* Local community
* Students from across the school

There will be a presentation on the history of the connection with the RAF from a group of Thomas Tallis students. Following this, there will be the unveiling of the plaque by Air Commodore A J Byford.
