Do you have a passion for gardening? The Royal Borough of Greenwich has 10 new apprenticeship opportunities, working in gardening/horticulture, and is holding a recruitment event on Thursday 8 September - by appointment only – for people who want to apply.
Work will include hedge trimming, clearing leaves, planting, pruning, grass seeding, mulching, as well as assisting with skilled horticultural projects.
Some tasks will involve using specialist machinery and the successful applicants will be trained in this as part of their qualifications, as well as gaining a wide range of basic and specialist skills and knowledge in gardening.
Working from a number of locations, including some of the many parks and open spaces in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, these apprenticeship opportunities offer a good foundation to a career, good long-term prospects and on-going learning and development.
Why an apprenticeship?
Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to work for a real employer and gain a real qualification whilst gaining valuable workplace skills and experience.
You will receive:
* A competitive apprenticeship wage, paid fortnightly
* A nationally recognised qualification in a Horticulture training framework (you will have day release from the workplace for this)
* 20 days per year annual leave plus bank holidays
* Full time roles (35 hours per week, including training)
How to apply
To attend the event on 8 September, you must email your CV to Mitchell.hayzen@royalgreenwich.gov.uk or call Mitchell Hayzen on 020 8921 3153 by 7th September.
These apprenticeships will be based with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, under the employment and support of the London Apprenticeship Company.
These opportunities are open to Royal Borough residents.
