Nando’s All Set To Join New Cinema Complex In Eltham High Street, Say Royal Greenwich

Nando’s is all set to join Vue Entertainment at the new 6-screen cinema complex in Eltham High Street, south east London – part of a major regeneration scheme for the area by the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

The deal with Nando’s will see the creation of a 3,300 square feet (310 square metre) restaurant with a lease agreement signed for the next 20 years.

Councillor Denise Hyland (right), Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “The announcement of this new cinema complex really is a landmark moment for Eltham. We have been driving forward a long-held vision to breathe new life into Eltham Town Centre and building a new cinema complex is at the heart of those plans.

“We're delighted to welcome another major player to the scheme, which goes to show the level of confidence in Eltham and the borough as a whole."

“The complex will be a major new attraction, creating new jobs for the local community and the work we are also doing to improve the general high street environment shows how we are driving real change in Eltham.”

A deal between the Royal Borough and Vue Entertainment was sealed just last week. The council is currently in talks with another major restaurant chain to join the new complex and will announce the addition once negotiations are concluded.

The council has a demolition contractor on stand-by which will now be mobilised, with work likely to start on site during September 2016, with the main building works anticipated to start during the first quarter of 2017.

The new cinema complex scheme will see 100 full and part jobs created during the construction phase and once the complex opens, anticipated to be in the second half of 2018.
