Google has unveiled a virtual assistant for its Allo messaging app that will enable e-commerce tasks, such as making a dinner reservation or buying event tickets, according a report by the Mobile Marketing Association.
The report which was confirmed by Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal said the digital helper will also be featured in an upcoming home speaker from the brand.
The App adds to the list of text apps that are already in existence but pushes the AI initiative towards new possibilities.
Googles AI developed by its GoogleDeepMind won the global contest for artificial intelligence, beating the best known program in South Korea a year ago.
The new Google App "is worth a look", according to the Wall Street Journal who recommends that even if you never texted with another human: Do it to strike up a conversation with Google's artificial intelligence helper.
