Denise Hyland, Labour Counsellor For Abbeywood Elected Deputy Mayor Of Royal Greenwich

Cllr Denise Hyland, Labour Counsellow For Abbeywood and former Leader of Royal Greenwich has stepped down after being elected Deputy Mayor.

Sharing the news on her Twitter handle, Cllr Hyland said it was an honour to be so elected and would be spending the next year supporting Cllr Linda Bird who has been elected Mayor.

She said "After 12 years serving on the Cabinet @Royal_Greenwich,  I have stepped down and it’s an honour to be elected Deputy Mayor. I will spend the next year supporting my friend @CllrLindaBird in her year as Mayor." adding "thanks to all my colleagues in F&HE & in Business."

During her years of service on the Cabinet of Royal Greenwich, Cllr Hyland initiated several projects, including the Woolwich Traders Forum, The Smart City, RBG BIZ AWARDS and many more.
