President Donald Trump Says I take Hydroxycholoquine For The Coronavirus

Nigerians, recently discharged by the NCDC, who have been crying fowl because the disease agency treated their symptom with chloroquine may be shocked by this revelation from no other person but US President, Donald Trump.

In a Twitter post he said ..“I take hydroxychloroquine sarcastically.”

An American website News18 reports the US President as saying 'I'm taking hydroxychloroquine,' adding 'I've been taking it for the last week and a half. A pill every day.'

The US President made this remark during a question-and-answer session at the White House, News reported - and Twitter went wild.

But a Huffpost report sayd Hydrochloroquine is not proven to treat coronavirus. "There is no evidence the anti-malaria drug works to combat Covid-19, of which there have been more than 1.5 million US cases." Huffpost said.

In Nigeria, Chairman of Nigerias Daar Communications, Raymond Dopkesi Jnr. started what has become a major doubting point in Nigeria after he was discharged by the NCDC in Abuja last week.

He told the media that he had not been shown his test results and questioned why he was treated with malaria drugs, prompting a radio discussion on Monday by NCDC's Head of Prevention Programme and Knowledge Management, Dr Chinwe Ochu on why the agency treats coronavirus patients with malaria drugs.
