Boxer Floyd Mayweather topped the rich list of sports men for 2015 according to a new list released by Forbes.
The boxer whose blockbuster showdown with Manny Paquaio of philipines, grossed much of the $470 million earnings’ increase.
Forbes said the two boxers banked $460 million in the last 12 months, $310 million more than they earned combined last year. Further analysis said the salaries and prize money were up 19% overall for the top 100 with endorsements increasing 13% to $836 million.
For 2015, Forbes new list put Floyd Mayweather on top with a $300m (£194m) ( made up of Salary/Winnings $285m (£184.3m) and Endorsements $15m (£9.7m).
He was followed by Manny Pacquaio with $160m (£103m) made up of $148m from salary/winnings (£96m) and $12m endorsements (£7.8m).
Others on the highest paid 100 athelletes include Tiger Woods (Golf), Lewis Hamilton (Motor Racing) and Christiano Ronaldo (Football).
