Do you know a military veteran who lives in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, who deserves special recognition?
Every year on Armed Forces Day an award is presented to the veteran who is judged to have contributed the most within the Borough.
The organisers of The Great Get Together and Armed Forces Day are looking for people who have helped others in their local community, for example through contributing to a particular organisation, being involved with fund raising (particularly for local charities), or working in the local community. They must live in the borough and have served in the Navy (including Royal Marines), Army or RAF.
Nominations can be made by family, friends or colleagues and should include the details of the person nominated and a brief service history and the reason why they have been nominated.
Finally, make sure to include contact details of the person making the nomination including name, telephone number, address and email address, and send your nominations to:
Station Commander,
VOY Committee,
RA Barracks ,
Repository Road,
Woolwich SE18 4BB
The closing date for nominations is Monday 13 June 2016.
The winners will be presented at The Great Get Together and Armed Forces Day which will take place on Saturday 25 June at the Royal Artillery Barracks’ sports fields.
