England beat their Welsh rivals 2:1 this afternoon after much publicity preceded their clash at the Euro2016 tournament in France.
Gareth Bale's claim that no England player could fit into a Welsh team proved untrue after a perfect response to a challenge that would have decided England's fate at the tournament had it gone the other way round.
Wales took the lead in the first half with a Gareth Bale strike, but the introduction of Jamie Vardy changed the game, after the Premier League winner equalised for England.
Daniel Sturridge completed the rout with a superb finish. Both payers came off the bench to score.
England now tops their group with 4 points followed by Wales and Slovakia with 3 points each. But despite England's victory, both teams performance were described as below expectation.
England's next game will with Slovakia who beat Russia, Wednesday.
