A new statement released by Nigeria's Disease Control Office reported 188 new cases of the coronavirus in Nigeria. It takes the overall total to 56,017.

Lagos shot back to the top with 47 new cases, followed by Enugu with 25 and Plateau trailing in the third position with 21.
Rivers and Yobe States occupy the bottom of the list with 2 new cases each.
A total of 43,998 have now been discharged while 1,076 people have died from the disease.
Coronavirus was first reported in Nigeria on Feb 28, 2020, after an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria returned from Milan to Lagos and was confirmed by the Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Idiaraba, Lagos.
