SOUTH-EAST LONDON LOVERS DIE IN AN ESSEX HOTEL POOL by Benson Agoha


Two lovers from South Eastern towns of Erith in Kent and Plumstead, near Woolwich were reportedly found dead in a hotel pool in Essex, on Saturday evening, April 27.

According to newspaper and TV reports, the couple were believed to be stayig at the hotel for the weekend.

The couple, Komba Kpakiwa, 31 from Erith and student, Josephine Foday from Plumstead were found lying face down inside the indoor pool of the Down Hall Country House Hotel in Essex village of Hatfield Heath, located along the A1060 road, just 26 minutes to Chelmsford.

* Dead: Shop keeper Komba Kpakiwa, married father of two who, according to newspaper reports `looked after his family well and suported them', was found with his girlfriend, Josephine inside the pool.

* Dead: Student, Josephine Foday, lived in Plumstead with her grandmother and was said to be excited to be celebrating her 22 birthday at the hotel.
* Scene of death: The 10meter indoor pool said to be generally safe but unsupervised.

The deaths are not considered to have occured as a result of poisened pool water, but police are still investigating. An inquest into the deaths have been opened but not yet concluded.
