METROPOLITAN POLICE TEAMS UP WITH POLISH AND ROMANIAN POLICE TO FIGHT OVERSEAS OFFENDERS by Benson Agoha


* Crime Combat.

The Metropolitan Police today welcomed Polish and Romanian officers to London as they team up to fight organised crime from foreign offenders.

The met said the co-operation is to enable them effectively respond to offences being committed by travellers as well as help their travelling victims.

While in London the officers will discuss modalities for sharing intelligence between the co-operating countries about travelling criminal and or travelling victims.

Also the officers will be engaging in proactive activities that will give them better access to information on these travellers and victims of organised crime in other countries.

The Met said the scheme themed "Operation Nexus" is being sponsored under an EU funding grant and will be rolled out to other countries within the European Union in due course.
