News Flash: Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic Win On Memorable Sunday

By WO Staff

Silverstone: Formula 1:

Lewis Hamilton today recorded his latest win at the Formula 1 races at Silverstone.

He was not hot favourite to win after finishing sixth during the qualification races on Saturday, but a combination of experience and luck helped him close the gap between him and team mate, Nico Rosberg, who retired early with a gear-box problem.

Rosberg is still ahead of Hamilton though.

Only recently, both drivers spoke of their desire to win. And while Hamilton spoke of closing in on this year's leader, Rosberg spoke of extending his lead. He now leads Hamilton with just 4 points.

Later, Hamilton tweeted saying:

"This feels great! Winning in front of your home crowd, is just the best feeling", adding "We really do have the greatest fans".
