The Burning Man 2014 Was A Colosus Of A Statue

Behold, the man...a massive 150 feet in height. It was not a razzmatazz of an installation but a beautiful statue, in its own right.

So much, you would have wished it did not have to burn..except it will - in BLACK ROCK CITY, Nevada, USA on Aug 30, 2014 at 9:30pm Pacific Time. It Corresponds to 5.30 am London Time on Sunday, August 31, 2014.

Visitors are now able to visit, after it was locked down on Monday.

Black Rock City, Nevada, is a town that exists for only one week each year, which is during the Burning Man festival, a radical arts event.

The town can accommodate up to 60,000 citizens. It has a post office, an emergency services crew, a volunteer police department, roads, houses, bars, clubs, restaurants, and hundreds of art installations and participatory "theme camps".

After the event, the city is completely disassembled – much of it burned – leaving the stark, white desert exactly as bare as it had been when the event started.
