A British IT Worker and two US Servicemen have been honoured for bravery after they disarmed a gunman who opened fire on a French Speed train travelling between Amsterdam and Paris.

The heartless Morrocan was then bitten unconsciously and bound after he began pleading with the soldiers to hand him back Kalashnikov he used for his operation.

The men were promptly praised for their action and described as heroes by French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve who praised their actions in "extremely difficult circumstances", saying "Thanks to them we have averted a drama. They were particularly courageous and showed extreme bravery."

And US president Barack Obama has praised the men for “courage and quick thinking”, calling their actions “heroic”.

When tough looking French anti-terrorist police arrested the gunman near the French-Belgian border, several other weapons were found in his luggage besides Kalashnikov and its several magazines. He was also reportedly carrying an automatic piston and several razor blades.
According to the report, when the man came out from the train toilet, holding the automatic rifle and opened fire in the carriage, Airman Spencer Stone, of the US Airforce reacted quickly, running at him.

During the scuffle the soldier and two others, were reportedly injured, and Stone ended up in hospital with a cut in the neck, but is thought to be non-life threatening.

The gunman was taken into custody by French police at a train station in Arras. He is in custody in hospital and the motive is yet to be ascertained.

One report said the man was claiming not to be a terrorist and just wanted to steal, and may be to ransom off passengers, saying the guns were not his but that he found them by chance in a Brussels Park'.
