Royal Greenwich residents can also take many other recyclable items and general waste by car to the Reuse and Recycling Centre in Nathan Way, Thamesmead SE28 0AB. See our website for the list of materials you can bring to the site. Please note the site will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day but it will be open on New Year’s Day between 9:00am and 4:30pm.
Royal Greenwich will recycle your real Christmas tree as part of your weekly collection. If you would like us to collect your tree then simply remove all decorations and the pot and place your tree at the front of your property (not in your bin) where it can be easily be seen by the green top bin collection team.
Your tree will be taken on your normal collection day (check revised dates) so make sure it is put out with your bin before 6am. If you don’t have a green top bin you can still leave your tree at the front of your property but please do not block the footpath, there is no need to telephone for a special collection. Residents living in flats should leave their real trees by the bin store.
