As of last week you can donate your old laptops, game consoles, routers and mobile phones at a number of libraries across the borough.
As of last week you can donate your old laptops, game consoles, routers and mobile phones at a number of libraries across the borough.
Bins have been placed in the following libraries so that anyone can be assured their old equipment is being put to good use:
Eltham library
Greenwich Centre library
Woolwich library
The bins are managed by socialbox.biz, a social enterprise which collects donations of laptop computers and other disused technological items. It uses them to support charities working with disadvantages groups such as the homeless, young refugees and the elderly.
However, before you donate your laptop, make sure you copy and back up the files you need as you will not be able to get them back afterwards!
