If You Have Never Attempted To Leave The State You Live In, Lockdown May Seem Like A Joke

If you have never attempted to leave your state, Lockdown may seem like a joke.

Many Nigerians are being negatively affected by the lockdown, but to a majority of those affected, the hardship is simply being caused by a lack of one thing or another exemplified by the closure of schools, mosques, churches and a partial opening of markets and business centres.

Businessmen however, have expressed their helplessness due to reduced sales and inability to stock up.

As the days pass and the daily confirmed cases climb up, a new reality is taking over.  Many people who doubted the presence of the coronavirus in Nigeria have gradually shifted from their hard-line position as NCDC intensifies their public awareness campaign.

But travelers face a new reality.  Many are unable to get past state barriers and many more are stranded away from home and family.

Anambra State, which is a gateway state has firmly locked people in, and others out, as the River Niger Bridge Onitsha was effectively closed, keeping out intending travelers from both direction. See the attached  photos shared by Elvis Chinedu on Twitter.
